Users in the market for an affordable mid-range Ultrabook may want to take a look at the Acer Swift 3 that's currently on sale at Amazon. The deal is notable for its fast Ryzen 7 4700U CPU, spacious 512 GB NVMe SSD, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, thin narrow-bezel design, and a healthy selection of integrated ports considering the $630 USD asking price. Most other laptops in this range are typically thicker and heavier or with slower Core i3 to Core i5 processors.
The Achilles heel of the configuration is its meager 8 GB of RAM which is further handicapped by being soldered and non-upgradeable. Many users recommend at least 12 to 16 GB of RAM for smoother multi-tasking between major applications like browsers, games, and photo editing software.
Even with its main disadvantage in mind, the Acer system is still more than adequate for day-to-day workloads and editing because of its Ryzen 7 CPU. The lightweight portable design makes it a better travel companion than most other budget laptops.
